What Is IMU CET?
IMU CET is a national level entrance examination that is conducted by the Indian Maritime University for admitting students into undergraduate, post-graduate and diploma courses offered in maritime studies such as B.Sc Nautical Science, B.Tech Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Diploma in Nautical Science, and MBA Programs in Port and Shipping Management. How Exam Centre Allocation Works
Understanding the allocation process helps you avoid last-minute surprises:
1.Select your choices while registering – While registering for the IMU CET, students are generally asked to fill in at least three choices of cities where they would like to take the test, in order of preference.
2.City selection portal online – IMU provides an online city selection portal a few weeks before the exam, where students can modify or confirm their city choice.
3.Nearest city allotted on the basis of availability – IMU will try their best to allocate your choice city, but in case there aren’t enough students registering for that particular centre, then it is the right of the conducting authority to assign the nearest city.
4.Allocation confirmed on the admit card – The final and confirmed centre city name, address, time, and instructions about the centre are mentioned on your admit card only.
How to Find Your IMU CET Exam Centre
- Check the official website: After the city-selection window closes, IMU uploads the final centre list to the official site.
- Your admit card is available for download. As soon as the admit card is released, you would find your assigned centre details along with its address and instructions to report there.
- Make sure to keep both print and digital copy readily available: Most of the exam centers will not allow any student without an admit card to enter the examination hall.

- 1.Be in attendance at the center one hour before the reporting time mentioned in the admit card.
- 2.Make sure you carry your admit card (print) along with any one of the photo IDs issued by the Government such as Adhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, or Voter ID card.
- 3.Always carry a few photos in passport size in case they become necessary during the registration process.
- 4.Use of mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, and other electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
