How to get into NDA?
Candidates for NDA are recruited on the basis of their performance in the National Defence Entrance Examination which is held in April and September. The written examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is followed by extensive interviews conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB). The board conducts interviews covering general aptitude, psychological testing, and team management skills as well as physical and social skills, along with medical tests. Aspirants are required to clear both the written as well as the oral examination to successfully earn a seat in the National Defence Academy.

- Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry of Two and Three Dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability
- Paper-II (General Ability Test): Topics
- English (Part A): Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Cohesion
- General Knowledge (Part B): This section will be classified into Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events

Conditions for Eligibility for NDA
|Nationality||The potential candidate must be either a citizen of India, or a subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal, a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India|
|Age Limit||For being eligible for the 2018 Examination, candidates should be born not earlier than 2nd July, 1999 and not later than 1st July, 2002|
|Sex||Only Male candidates can apply for NDA|
|Marital Status||A candidate should be unmarried|
|Educational Qualification||(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University (iii) Candidates appearing for 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination|
