EXAM PATTERN OF CDS/OTA WRITTEN EXAMINATION

There are three papers in  CDS written exam –

  1. General Ability- 100 Marks
  2. English- 100 Marks
  3. Mathematics- 100 Marks

 

All the papers are conducted on the same day with duration for each paper is 2 hours.  The papers of CDS written exam are of 100 marks each and the total of the CDS written exam is of 300 marks.

 

The OTA Written exam consists of only two of the below-mentioned papers-

  1. General Ability- 100 Marks
  2. English- 100 Marks

OTA Candidates are exempted from Mathematics exam. The two papers of OTA written exam are of 100 marks each.

 

SYLLABUS FOR CDS/ OTA WRITTEN EXAMINATION

The CDS written exam tests a candidate in various fields like English, Mathematics,  History, Polity, Economics, Geography, Life Science,  Physics, Chemistry, Current Affairs, GK,   and so on.

A detailed look at the syllabus for CDS Examination-

ENGLISH- Synonyms, Antonyms, Ordering of words, Comprehension, and Spotting of errors.

MATHEMATICS – Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Arithmetic, Mensuration, Geometry.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE – History, Civics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Current Affairs.

 

 RESULTS OF CDS/OTA EXAMINATION

Results for CDS/OTA written examinations are declared online, generally 3-4 months after the exam. The result can be viewed online at official website of UPSC.The result is prepared on merit basis and students who qualify CDS written are called for SSB interviews.

There are 30 examination centers, which are located in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Bombay, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Dharwar, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kohima, Lucknow, Madras, Madurai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Tirupati, Trivandrum, Udaipur and Vishakhapatnam.
