Additional Costs After Qualifying IMUCET 2026
After clearing IMUCET, candidates go through a few more fee stages before the actual admission in any particular course.
Counselling Registration Fee:
Once your rank is out, you’ll need to register on the counselling portal to take part in seat allotment. The counselling fee is ₹10,000. This fee is refundable if no seat is allotted in any round.
Seat Confirmation or Admission Fee:
If you’re allotted a seat, you’ll need to pay ₹30,000 to confirm and lock in your seat during document verification. This is non-refundable once paid.
After the confirmation of your seat, you have to pay the semester fee of the particular course and college you are allotted.
Sponsorship Fees
A sponsorship is an offer from a shipping company that allows you to join a course with assured onboard training after completing your pre-sea course.Â
To get sponsored, candidates must clear the company’s selection process, which includes a written test, interview, and medical examination.
Most companies charge a sponsorship application fee to appear for the selection process. Apart from this, candidates may also need to pay for medical tests, document verification, travel, and passport-related expenses. These charges vary from one shipping company to another.
If you’re preparing for sponsorship exams, Merchant Navy Start can help. The app provides sponsorship form updates, mock tests, and also college-related important information.
